What We Learned From Solange Knowles vs Jay Z

I'm sure many of you have seen the video of Beyonce', Jay-Z, and Solange in the elevator with Solange uncontrollably hitting, kicking, and slapping Jay-Z. If not, here is the video clip that has been circulating around the internet.

Before we delve into this, 1st let it be clear that Urban Metaphysics is not attempting to take sides with any party involved in this incident. We do not know all the facts surrounding the issue and it is not our intention to judge or decide who is right or wrong in this matter. We do, however, feel that this is a teachable moment for both men and women and since education is one of the strongest pillars of the Urban Metaphysics mission we decided to blog on it.

That being said, it is clear that Ms. Solange did what many of us do all too often. She allowed someone else to impose on her peace and as a result, she got so far out of alignment that she reacted in violence.

We see other examples of this everyday in grocery stores, road rage driving down the street, on the streets of inner cities, and even in white collar homes of multi-millionaires. Someone says or does something that pushes us so far past our peace point that we snap! It's like we lose control of our ability to stop ourselves or to maintain our composure. It's almost like an outer body experience as we watch ourselves go completely off the handle. What's really happening here?

A Sudden Shift in Your Vibration and Energy!

Energy is the constant that makes up everything and all things. Energy is constantly moving or vibrating within everyone at a frequency that's unique to them. That's why you can walk past a person without seeing them but feel who they are or what type of mood they're in.

Whenever you're interacting with someone else, you're energies are inter-mingling and interacting. A good example of this would be the electron exchange of atoms we learned about in high school science. There's always an exchange of energy. The problem comes in when someone either has a negative energy that they're purposely pushing off onto people around them or when WE ALLOW something or someone to raise our energy's vibration past our peace point which causes an explosion!

We believe that's what we saw in the video of Solange and Jay Z. Something was said or done that caused Solange's energy to be pushed past her peace point and she exploded!

How to Protect Your Peace

We overstand that sometimes it can be very, very difficult to maintain inner peace in certain circumstances. We also overstand that sometimes a firey burst of energy is necessary in dealing with some situations. However, being out of control of your energy (which is your power and life source) is not good. It almost always results in something that you'll regret later. Having said that, here is a quick list of 5 things we can all do to protect our energy and maintain composure even in the presence of someone who is pushing our buttons.

Mediation- Never Leave Home Without It

You never know what you're gonna come up against when you leave out of your front door. It's always best to set your intention for the day and protect your energy by meditating for a few moments before you leave home.

Deep Breathing

If ever you feel your temper rising past your peace point the fastest way to gain control over yourself is to do some deep breathing. This helps you regain control over your energy, lower your blood pressure, and help you move back into your normal frequency.

Remember the Consequences of Blowing Up

How many people do you know that could have avoided a fight, jail, or even death simply by thinking before they acted? Reminding yourself of the potential consequences of losing your temper is usually a great way to avoid a blow up.

What's In It For Them?

Whenever someone is purposely pushing your buttons just to get a rise out of you they are usually doing it because they are getting something out of it. Watch out for Energy Vampires! People who purposely piss you off so they can use your negative energy as fuel.

A Wild Punch That Doesn't Land

Every boxer knows that the best way to defeat an opponent is to let them swing and miss. When a punch, or an insult, or any purposeful thing is thrown but misses its target, the one who threw it is left off balanced while the intended target maintains their peaceful state.

So Ms. Solange remember this: Inner Peace Starts The Moment You Stop Allowing Others To Control Your Emotions
